The quest of hitting things began the day he was given his grandfather's 1940's Ludwig drums. Andrew was eight years old. The following years were full of discovery and evolution. At first there was playing along with Kiss and Cheap Trick records. Then came years discovering Bonham, Ringo, Moon ...then Copeland, and eventually Gadd, Tony Williams and Elvin Jones. This was only the beginning.
At the Berklee School of Music in Boston, Andrew was lucky enough to study with some of drumming's greatest teachers, including Bob Gullotti, Gary Chaffee, and Ian Froman. To round out his musical knowledge, he also studied piano with Mike Marra, and eventually graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Film Scoring.
After winning Guitar Center's 1999 "Drum Off" competition, Andrew packed his bags and moved from Boston to the Big Apple.
Andrew currently lives in Brooklyn, where he has been fortunate enough to find a space where he can live/play/and record music. He has supplemented his busy gigging schedule with recording drum tracks, tracking full bands, and producing his own music.
